Make a Landscape Quilt Monday, May 13 10am-4pm
This class will focus on creating unique landscape quilts. It will start with a trunk show and multiple demonstrations, so that students will get the overall vision of the process. I will share tips for selecting and using your fabrics, discuss placement, and value. Two ways to produce shadow on your landscape will be shared and a handout will be provided with tips, tricks and guidelines.
Students will bring scraps of fabric measuring at least 21” x 3” in a variety of colors. Think of the sky, mountains, sandy beaches, rocks, fields, flowers, the ocean, a river, hills, etc. Smaller scraps that may be used for motifs should also be in your stash to add a sun, moon, boat, lighthouse, beach umbrella, cabin, or trees.
Batting will be provided for a foundation and Steam a Seam II will be provided for motifs. Everyone’s landscape will be unique. They will also be different sizes depending upon how many strips/layers you choose to use. Approximate size: 24” x 18”. A supply list will be sent upon booking this class.
